Trekkers making a difference

Tailoring Class
Our Tailoring Program offers both beginner and advanced classes, providing women with practical sewing skills using traditional treadle machines. Participants learn everything from basic stitching and garment construction to more advanced techniques — empowering them with the skills needed to gain employment or start their own tailoring business.
It’s more than sewing – it’s a pathway to independence, income, and confidence.

Every day, women gather here to gain practical skills, build confidence, and take charge of their futures. With excellent success rates, our programs are empowering women to achieve financial security through employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning.

Didi HQs: A New Chapter
Didi Headquarters is finally complete — now with a beautiful new beauty school, a fully equipped sewing room, and a rooftop that proudly houses our Industrial Sewing School and offices. Up to 160 women attend classes daily, gaining skills, confidence, and independence. Didi HQ stands as a beacon of hope in Mulpani, Kathmandu — a hive of women’s empowerment.
Collaborating with UNHCR
Didi HQs final renovation is near completion. The third floor was funded by UNHCR Nepal and on the third floor will house the new and modern beauty and sewing school. The top floor has the office and advanced sewing school which has electric machines.
Cooking School- social work
Didi Foundation believes that one person can make a difference and that is what our cooking students did.
As part of their cooking training course the students prepared a take away meal which they personally delivered to the Sundarijal Children’s Home. Collectively, they also raised funds to purchase fresh fruit and supplies.

2023 Collaboration with UN
We are excited that UNHCR is funding a third floor on our building which will house our new and bigger sewing and beauty schools.
Therefore, we are currently working around construction crews and a building site
But we are not complaining and excited for the future to have larger, modern and contemporary learning spaces. Thank you UNHCR NEPAL

2023 Didi’s Cooperative supporting women in business
Didi’s Cooperative is managed by women. Everyday staff venture into our community and offer personalised banking. That is, money is deposited, money is withdrawn, loans repaid.
The Didi Foundation Cooperative is supporting Nepalese women to make a difference in their lives and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
2023 Didi’s Cooking School- Uniform distribution
Didi’s Cooking School students are given their professional jackets and a knife set so that they are prepared for the professional world. This course is empowering 15 girls to reach their full potential in culinary skills.
We stand proud that Didi’s Cooking School is an Australian Aid initiative implemented by The Didi Foundation on behalf of the Australian Government.
