Didi Headquarters: A Hub for Empowerment
Didi HQs is in Mulpani, Kathmandu, nestled in a vibrant urban environment. Since its founding in 2013, we have exceeded expectations, growing from an initiative with just five sewing machines to a purpose-built four-storey building, which now serves as a powerful hub for women and community empowerment.
Key Initiatives at Didi HQ
Didi HQs is a hive of activities with over 150 women a day visiting the centre. Our dedicated management team oversees a diverse range of impactful initiatives. Including our inclusive vocational training, specialised women’s empowerment, mentoring and welfare programs. A team also oversees Didi’s Café and Didi’s Savings and Credit Cooperative (based on the ground floor) together with supporting our outreach programs and Didi Aid travel. Find out more below
Vocational Training
Didi HQ’s is a four-storey hive of activity where we host Didi’s Vocational Training for women. Courses include tailoring, beauty, barista, cooking, computers, literacy and numeracy. All courses are designed to empower women and promote gender equality.
Sustainable Development
The Didi Foundation embraces social entrepreneurship to empower women and foster inclusive growth. Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we focus on education, empowerment, and social impact.
Community Outreach Programs
Didi’s outreach programs include women’s health with emphasis on the reproductive system. We maintain benevolent links to a remote boarding school for hearing impaired children and support two highly disadvantage schools.
